Imogen Holst (b. 1907 - d. 1984),was the only child of Gustav Holst,and herself was a composer,an arranger of folk songs,a writer on music,a conductor,and an administrator.She also acted as music assistant to Benjamin Britten, with whom she became a friend and close associate.From this friendship,she subsequently continued as Artistic Director of the Aldeburgh Festival until 1977,when she retired to devote more time to preparing a thematic catalogue of her father's music.
